About Me

Hello, I’m Krish Phua.

I am originally from the vibrant city-state of Singapore, and now I proudly call the picturesque landscapes of Zurich my home. An avid hiker and cyclist, I thrive in the outdoors and have a deep appreciation for music and the performing arts.

As a dedicated psychological counsellor, I am registered with the Singapore Association for Counselling and a certified clinical supervisor. My areas of specialisation include:

  • Trauma and PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder)
  • Mental Health (including Depression, Anxiety, Stress, and other disorders)
  • Substance and Behavioural Addictions
  • Relationships in Couples and Families
  • Gender and Sexuality
  • LGBTQIA+
  • Living with HIV or AIDS
  • Relocation and Integration

Fluent in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese, I bring a diverse background in psychological counselling, academia, and business management. My extensive experience spans both private and people sectors, encompassing clinical and therapy centres, educational institutions, and corporate environments. This varied career path has enriched my expertise and practice.

Having experienced what it feels like to live far from my homeland, I sometimes miss the tropical island of Singapore, where my family still resides. However, I have embraced Switzerland as my second home, finding comfort in the similarities between the two countries. Both adorned in red and white, Singapore and Switzerland share a unique bond, with Singapore being a warm version of Switzerland.

Helping others is at the core of my life philosophy, encapsulated in my personal motto: “Give . Share . Serve”.

My commitment to service extends beyond my professional life. I have been an active volunteer for nearly two decades and am currently dedicated to assisting refugees in Switzerland as they integrate into society. Previously, I have actively volunteered with organisations supporting minorities facing challenges related to sexual orientation, addiction, incarceration, and living with HIV/AIDS, as well as Trauma and PTSD. As a Certified Facilitator for SMART Recovery, I have played an active role in leading addiction recovery support groups, drawing on principles from Narcotics Anonymous and Alcoholics Anonymous.

My journey and experiences have shaped me into a compassionate, effective, and insightful counsellor, deeply committed to making a positive difference in the lives of those I work with.
